PhonePe, the fintech company backed by Walmart, has launched a new consumer-facing application named Pincode. The app is set to be integrated with India’s Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) framework, aimed at enhancing its e-commerce operations.
PhonePe already operates in the e-commerce sector with a service called ‘Switch,’ which offers services similar to its main competitor Paytm. If PhonePe decides to venture into ONDC, it will directly compete with Paytm, which already has an ONDC platform integrated into its application.
